Tom will be sharing with us highlights of business valuation which will help practitioners prepare their clients for work involving valuations. Tom will share ideas regarding gathering proper data, analysis, and review available tools to develop proper valuations using the market, income & cost approaches. Tom will review the application of proper discounts and current trends with them. He will conclude with a case study.
Thomas C. Berg, Jr., CFA, ASA, AVA is a Managing Director of FMV Opinions, Inc., in the San Francisco office, and leads the firm’s valuation practices for the financial services, home building, gaming, and winery industry sectors. Tom’s experience includes a number of years at a publicly traded Wall Street firm as an investment bank securities analyst covering the financial services industry where he provided research support for over a dozen initial and secondary public offerings lead by his firm. He has completed valuations in numerous industries for mergers and acquisitions, estate and gift tax, shareholder buyouts, restructuring, bankruptcy, ESOPs and many other purposes.
