An Outlook: Where our local economy is headed
Brian Bonnenfant, the Project Manager for the Center for Regional Studies (CRS) at the University of Nevada, Reno, will provide an outlook of where our local economy is headed and will discuss how the CRS helps businesses select a location for operations and understand current market trends. The CRS is an economic research collaborative between the College of Business and the Nevada Small Business Develpoment Center at UNR. It's mission is to provide spatial econmic development analyses to businesses, entrepreneurs, governments, non-profits and other community networks. Brian will discuss:
- Economic indicator trends (population, employment, wages, income, tax sales, etc.)
- Commercial permits
- Residential construction activity
- Home sales activity
- Mobility stats and discussion of in-migration
- Regional industry outlook
Brian has conducted and managed spatial analyses through UNR for over 27 years. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Geology at California State University, Chico, and a Masters of Science in Geological Engineering at University of Nevada, Reno. Brian also serves as board chair for the Nevada Land Trust, vice chair for the Truckee River Fund Advisory Committee, and as a member of UNR Athletics stats crew.
