TOPICS:
As the estate tax exemption continues to grow and our culture continues to change, estate planning professionals must be prepared to counsel their clients in ways that reflect and appreciate the complexities of the modern family. Understanding how 21st Century issues impact estate planning allows the advisor to dig deeper into exploring their client’s values, fears concerns and goals, and provides for meaningful discussions on topics ranging from spirituality and philanthropy, addiction and divorce, gender fluidity, wealth management incapacity and stewardship. Depending upon how they are approached, each of these can influence the family legacy – for good or for bad. To address the impact of our rapidly changing culture and to better serve our clients, we must incorporate forward-thinking, flexible elements into our planning that maximizes control, eliminates chaos, protects assets, and wisely provide for those we love. From trust protectors and IRA Trusts, to disability panels and lifetime inheritance trusts, Eden will provide us with both conceptual and practical tools to navigate our changing world.
